2023 Annual Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation Walk for the Cure
2023 Annual Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation Walk for the Cure
The 2023 Annual St. Louis Walk for the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation is Sunday, October 8, from 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM at Tower Grove Park, Sons of Rest Pavilion, St. Louis, MO.
Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) is one of the most common, life-threatening genetic kidney diseases. PKD causes uncontrolled growth of fluid-filled cysts in both kidneys, often leading to kidney failure. There are an estimated 600,000 Americans and 12.4 million people worldwide who have been diagnosed with PKD. Once a person has kidney failure, the only treatments are dialysis and transplant.
The PKD Foundation is the only organization in the United States SOLELY dedicated to finding treatments and a cure for PKD. It was founded on August 20, 1982. The national office is located in Kansas City, Missouri. The St. Louis PKD Community is part of over 50 PKD Communities across the United States. 100% of donations made to the Walk will go to critical PKD research to help find treatments and a cure.
