At 7:45 p.m. on Saturday evening, crews opened the westbound I-64 Daniel Boone Missouri River Bridge.
Original Story
Work on various roadways will slow down St. Louis drivers this weekend. Here's a quick guide on what's happening:
- Headed to the Mizzou football game on Saturday in Columbia?
The westbound lanes on the Daniel Boone Bridge will close starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday and remain closed through Sunday. Missouri Department of Transportation officials remind drivers to use alternate river crossings into St. Charles County. To make it by game time, MoDOT officials say fans should either get a head start to avoid the closings or seek an alternate route.
- Going to the Cardinals or Rams games? You're part of these closures, too.
In downtown St. Louis, two lanes in both directions will close on the Poplar Street Bridge this weekend, and lane shifts on I-64 between Kingshighway and Boyle will begin at midnight on Saturday. Downtown work zones will affect Cardinals and Rams fans headed downtown for the weekend’s sports events, but MoDOT District Engineer Greg Horn says the department tries to accommodate the crowds.
MoDOT officials advise drivers hoping to avoid traffic on the Poplar to use the Martin Luther King or Eads Bridges, I-255 or I-55.
