The location of Kinloch, Mo. Kinloch's mayor, Keith Conway, has been indicted on charges that he embezzled city funds.
The mayor of Kinloch, Mo. in St. Louis County is now facing charges that he embezzled city money for personal use.
Keith Conway was indicted by a federal grand jury on one felony count of Wire Fraud and one felony count of Federal Program Theft.
And what kind of punishment does Conway face if convicted? A release from the U.S. Department of Justice explains:
If convicted, wire fraud carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000; federal program theft carries a maximum of ten years prison and/or fines up to $250,000. In determining the actual sentences, a Judge is required to consider the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, which provide recommended sentencing ranges.
The release also said that Conway allegedly spent the city money on expenses, travel and a Florida vacation home.
Kinloch has also experienced problems lately with its Fire Protection District.
