Scott Air Force Base, Ill. – In the coming months, the U.S. military will send 17,000 more troops to Afghanistan. And after that, President Obama has planned a major drawdown in Iraq.
Anytime the U.S. military travels anywhere, to a war or natural disaster zone, or just back home, logistics experts play a key role. And the heart of the military's logistics system is at Scott Air Force Base just east of St. Louis.
KWMU's Matt Sepic got a look at a small piece of this vast operation last week when he traveled with the U.S. Transportation Command to an aircraft carrier in the Atlantic.
