St. Louis, MO – Baseball fans - and anyone who happens to be in downtown St. Louis during a playoff game - will get a break on parking.
The City Treasurer's office announced a 'free parking' green zone on Tuesday.
It will apply to metered parking spots in the downtown area bounded by Tucker Blvd, Pine St., Chouteau, and the Mississippi River.
People in that zone can park for free at meters an hour before and after the game. All other violations, like no parking zones, fire hydrants, and fire lanes, will be enforced.
The free parking zone is slightly moot, though, given that meters are only enforced until 7:00 p.m. and given that most playoff games start at 7.
The St. Louis Treasurer's office is in charge of parking meters and garages in the City.
