Kennett, MO – The Sheryl Crow Aquatic Center has opened in southeast Missouri town of Kennett.

That's the nine-time Grammy winner's hometown.

About 4,000 people turned out for a concert Saturdya to kick off the opening of the municipal swimming complex.

Crow donated money for the pool; several other residents made donations to make the center a reality.

The hope is that the new development will bring more activity to downtown Kennett.

The complex has an 82-foot long pool, a children's pool, a splash pad and water slide.
