Edwardsville, Ill. – The new pharmacy school at Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville has received hundreds of applications.
Director Phillip Medon says he's received more than 400 applications for the School of Pharmacy next fall. The school, though, only has 75 available seats for the first pharmacy class.
Medon says he isn't surprised by the high level of interest because there's strong demand for pharmacists nationwide.
An admissions committee will meet over the next several months to decide which applicants to accept. The top 150 candidates will be invited to an on-campus interview.
