St. Louis – Employees at St. Louis-based Sigma-Aldrich Corp are mourning the company's chairman, president and chief executive officer.
Jai Nagarkatti died of a heart attack on Saturday, the company said. He was 63 years old.
Nagarkatti joined the company shortly after the 1975 merger between Sigma Chemical Company, a St. Louis-based producer and Wisconsin-based Aldrich Chemical Company. He had been president and chief operating officer since 2004, then took on the roles of CEO in 2006 and and board chairman last year.
