Tuscumbia, Mo. – State officials will cut the ribbon Monday on a central Missouri bridge billed as the nation's first construction project under the federal stimulus program..
Crews began work on the bridge in Tuscumbia, Mo. on Feb. 17, 2009, just minutes
after President Obama signed the $787 billion stimulus package.
The span carries traffic on Missouri Highway 17 over the Osage River near Jefferson City.
It replaces a bridge that was nearly 80 years old.
