St. Louis – Republican gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady says Illinois Governor Pat Quinn should fire the state's corrections chief over the early release of inmates.
Brady repeated his call Sunday for the dismissal of Corrections Director Michael Randle.
Brady's comments come after the release of a report Friday that said the Department failed to consider public safety when it granted early release to save money.
Quinn says he will not fire Randle. He says Randle took responsibility for the mistakes. And the governor says it's his own job to "find remedies for those mistakes."
