St. Louis – St. Louis will play host once again to Democratic party bigwigs.
The city is one of four under consideration for the party's 2012 national convention. On Thursday, party officials will gather here for their semi-annual general meeting.
St. Louis party chair Brian Wahby said this meeting will be low-key; Democrats will just be tweaking party bylaws.
"We are going to make sure we don't overplay our hand, because obviously Charlotte, Minneapolis and Cleveland would like to have the meeting in their city to sort of play to the delegates," Wahby said.
Still, Wahby said giving the visitors a positive impression of St. Louis this week is a priority.
He says the Democratic Party will probably announce a final decision on its 2012 host city shortly after the November election.
