Jefferson City, MO – Missouri Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder says his legal challenge to the federal health care overhaul will be delayed.
Kinder, a Republican, said Wednesday that the lawsuit will be filed in late May or early June. He initially said he planned to sue by the end of April.
"We are proceeding in painstaking fashion through the 2,000-something page bill and making sure we have all our allegations and complaints in the petition that we file," Kinder said.
Kinder says he is raising private money for the legal challenge.
Thirteen state attorneys general are also planning to take the health care overhaul to court, saying the law violates constitutional limits on the powers of the federal government by requiring people to have health insurance.
