St. Louis – According to the National Alliance on Homelessness, 1.5 million more people will become homeless over the next two years in the United States.
While shelters and food pantries used to be the go-to resources for them, many experts now say that placing the chronically homeless in housing as soon as possible is a more economical and socially responsible approach.
Over the last five years, the city of St. Louis has taken steps to embrace this new line of thinking, and advocates say it's working. Anna Vitale reports.
