St. Louis – St. Louis County Police are offering a $2000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a 16-year-old boy in the St. Louis suburb of Berkeley Wednesday.

St. Louis County police say the officer is alert and in serious but stable condition at a hospital.

He was shot while attempting to talk with the suspect Wednesday afternoon at a cemetery.

Police have identified the suspect as Devante Thomas, an African-American male approximately 5'8" tall and 170 lbs. Police say Thomas remains armed and dangerous.

They're asking for the public's help in finding him. Anyone with information should call the St. Louis County police or Crimestoppers at 866-371-TIPS.

News organizations generally do not release the names of juvenile suspects. However police say a judge recommended the boy's name be released for public safety reasons.
