St. Louis – Public health experts in Missouri and Illinois say there have been no reported cases of swine flu in either state.
The Illinois Department of Public Health promised to monitor any outbreak and said anyone who's been to Mexico recently and is experiencing flu symptoms should see a doctor.
In Mexico, the disease has killed more than 100 people and sickened
more than 1,600.
The United States has declared a public health emergency to deal with swine flu, reporting 20 cases in five states.
Swine flu viruses generally do not infect humans. However cases of human-to-human spread of swine flu viruses have been documented before this most recent outbreak.
