St. Louis, MO – The Special Administrative Board of the St. Louis Public Schools voted Thursday night to close 17 schools, and build two new ones. The parents of children attending a school scheduled to close will receive a letter with details about which school their child will attend next year. But city officials worry that closing buildings designed to be fixtures in their neighborhood might contribute to more blight.
