St. Louis, MO – The Gateway Arch is the iconic symbol of St. Louis, and the structure most associated with Finnish architect Eero Saarinen. But in his relatively short career, Saarinen had a hand in hundreds of other projects.
A new retrospective that opened Friday at the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum at Washington University hopes to expand the understanding people have of Saarinen and the influence he had on things as large as office buildings and as small as home furnishings.
KWMU's Rachel Lippmann has this preview.
The retrospective will be at the Kemper Museum until late April. A smaller exhibit at Wash-U takes a closer historical look at the Gateway Arch.
