St. Louis, MO – The mother of St. Louis's first African-American mayor has died.
73-year-old Marjorie Ellen Bosley passed away New Year's Eve after an illness at her home in the Lindell Park neighborhood, on the city's north side.
Bosley was a long-time federal employee who also served as a neighborhood block captain. She loved to travel, and had gone to Germany, Morocco, China, Paris and Greece among other locations.
Bosley is survived by her husband, Freeman Bosley Sr., a St. Louis alderman; her son, Freeman Bosley Jr., the former mayor; and a daughter, Pamela, as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10am on Monday, January 5th at the Samaritan United Methodist Church, 4232 Washington Avenue. The funeral will follow at 11.
