Mo. Gov. Blunt opposes Wall St. bail-out

By Marshall Griffin, KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – Governor Matt Blunt disagrees with President Bush's proposed $700 billion aid package to Wall Street.

"I do not think Missouri taxpayers should bail out...these people that have made, in individual cases, tens (or) hundreds of millions of dollars, and in a corporate case, billions of dollars over the past 20 years," Blunt said.

Blunt also says he's not convinced the aid package is necessary to avert economic disaster.

He also thinks there is nothing the state of Missouri can do to address the crisis.
