St. Louis, MO – Talks begin today on a new contract for Teamsters union workers at Anheuser-Busch. The negotiations occur as Anheuser Busch is in the process of being acquired by Belgium brewer InBev.
On Saturday, hundreds of union workers rallied in St. Louis to support Teamsters who work for the brewer. The union is pushing InBev to demonstrate a commitment to union jobs.
The Teamsters represent about 8,000 Anheuser-Busch employees in the U.S. The five-year labor agreement between Anheuser-Busch and the Teamsters is set to expire on Feb. 28.
