Springfield, Ill. – Governor Rod Blagojevich has called Illinois back to Springfield for a special session set for next Tuesday and Wednesday.
He wants legislators to vote on his slimmed down statewide construction program and to address education funding.
Blagojevich has tried to revive his plan by lowering costs and abandoning gambling expansion to pay for it.
But some lawmakers say the program remains problematic because it relies on a partial lease of the state lottery as a funding source.
