St. Louis – St. Louis is no stranger to urban planning.
A century ago, the first comprehensive master plan for an American city was drawn up here.
To mark that milestone and the century of planning that followed, Mark Tranel brought together several professors, planners, and professionals for a book called "St. Louis Plans: The Ideal and the Real St. Louis."
Tranel is the director of the Public Policy Research Center at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He spoke with KWMU's Maria Hickey.
