Kenny Hulshof endorsed by several current and former Missouri House members

By Marshall Griffin, KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – Some Republican State House members on Wednesday announced their endorsement of Kenny Hulshof in the Missouri governor's race.

The mass endorsement at the State Capitol included former House Member-turned-State Senator John Griesheimer (R, Washington).

When asked about running the risk of splitting the G.O.P., Hulshof told reporters that working with opponents in both parties is important to maintaining good government.

"I think people in Missouri don't want to send legislators (to Jefferson City) that are going to disregard an idea just because of where it originates...it happens to come maybe from someone in the other party...instead, people in Missouri want and deserve an honest, accountable government," Hulshof said.

Lt. Governor Peter Kinder and State Treasurer Sarah Steelman are also seeking the Republican nomination for governor.

Jay Nixon is the lone Democrat in the Missouri governor's race.
