Columbia, Mo. – The University of Missouri officially introduced its new system president Thursday.
Former Sprint-Nextel CEO Gary Forsee has accepted the unanimous endorsement of the university's board of curators.
Board President Don Walsworth said though Forsee was fired from Nextel, his background is still well suited for his new position.
"Gary's background in one of the fastest evolving fields, telecommunications, reflects an appreciation for nimble thinking as well as high regard for thinkers who make critical differences," Walsworth said.
Forsee is taking over for Elson Floyd who left for Washington State University in April.
