Benton, Ill. – Services will be held Wednesday for a southern Illinois firefighter killed when he was hit by a Greyhound bus on Interstate 57.
James Miller, 43, died at the scene of the wreck Friday. He and other Sesser firefighters had just finished putting out a tractor-trailer fire near Benton when the Greyhound hit him.
The bus driver and the bus' 51 passengers weren't injured.
Miller's services will be at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church on Illinois 148, just north of Sesser.
Pinckneyville firefighters will staff the Sesser station during the services, and Mercy Regional Ambulance Service will offer a rig to respond to emergency medical calls.
