St. Louis, MO. – Customers and employees of the Downtown St. Louis Post Office were forced to evacuate the building earlier today (Wed).
A bomb threat that was called in to the Post Office at 11:40.
Postal inspectors along with members of the Metro Police Bomb squad were dispatched and took several hours before ruling that the threat was a hoax.
Dan Taylor is a United States Postal Inspector.
"The building is over a city block square and over a million square feet and several hundred employees from one shift were affected," Taylor said.
A search found no suspicious items in the building and postal inspectors are leading the investigation into the fake call.
