Drury University president named to MO Water Commission

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – Gov. Matt Blunt has appointed the president of Drury University to Missouri's Clean Water Commission. Todd Parnell currently is the university's interim president.

Terms on the clean water commission typically last for four years, which means Parnell's will last for barely ten months because he replaces commissioner Thomas Hermann, whose term expired in April 2004.

Hermann continued to serve because neither Governor Holden nor Governor Blunt appointed a replacement until now. Parnell is a Democrat from Springfield.

His appointment means the commission now has four Republicans, two Democrats and one vacancy.
