Jefferson City, MO – St. Louis-based Laclede Gas said Thursday it will receive a $38.6 million annual base rate increase, under a settlement with public officials in Missouri.
Under the agreement, the average monthly bill for Laclede natural gas customers will rise 2.6%, or $2.45 per month. The rate increase will take effect Aug. 1.
Laclede says it will use the new proceeds to maintain and operate its gas storage network which serves more than 600,000 customers. The company received its last general rate increase in 2005.
The company applied for this rate increase in December 2006.
