St. Louis, MO. – The latest question in the ongoing confrontation between the two boards overseeing St. Louis Public Schools is who does the superintendent report to?'

At a board meeting yesterday members of the elected board laid out a long list of reports they expect the superintendent to address; everything from property sales to explaining who gave approval for recent lay-offs.

Superintendent Diana Bourisaw says she wants to cooperate with the old board, but as she understands it, the law requires her to serve the CEO of the new Transitional School Board.

"In the law there are really only a couple of duties that I see as identified for the elected board and the rest of the operations are in the hands of the new CEO Rick Sullivan," Bourisaw said.

Bourisaw is currently at a conference on urban education at Harvard University along with Transitional Board CEO Rick Sullivan.

She says she will consult with him as to how to respond to the board's requests at their monthly meeting next week.
