Feds investigate St. Louis breast cancer charity

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis – The U.S. attorney's office in St. Louis is investigating a breast cancer foundation based in the city. Authorities are looking into the Judy Ride Foundation and its board of directors.

Michael Katz, a Clayton attorney who started the ten-year-old foundation, declined comment.

The board's chairman and vice chairman have said they've been involved in an internal investigation of Katz and operations of the foundation for several months.

Vice chairman David Drier said that investigation found information indicating that Katz may have diverted cash and items donated to charity auctions for his personal use.

Katz has denied wrongdoing.
