Overland Park, Kan. – Telecommunications company Embarq Corporation has named former Missouri Congressman Richard Gephardt to its board of directors.

The 66-year-old Gephardt served as House majority leader until 1995 and as minority leader until 2003. He also ran for President in 1988 and 2004.

Overland Park-based Embarq says the highly regulated company will benefit from Gephardt's knowledge of the political system.
