Jefferson City, MO – Former state lawmaker Ken Legan has been appointed to the Missouri Ethics Commission.
Legan served in the Missouri House from 1981-2002. The Republican is from the southwest Missouri town of Halfway.
He replaces John King, a St. Louis attorney who resigned in April to avoid a potential conflict of interest.
King works on zoning requests in the St. Louis area. He feared that could have been considered prohibited lobbying for ethics commissioners under a new law that expands the definition of lobbying.
If Legan is confirmed by the Senate, his term on the Ethics Commission would expire in 2010.
