Columbia, MO – And former Mizzou coach Quin Snyder has scored a new job as head coach of the Austin Toros, a kind-of NBA minor league team.
Snyder resigned from Missouri last year under pressure. In Texas, he'll replace Dennis Johnson, the former NBA star who coached the Toros until he died of a heart attack in February after a team practice.
Snyder started his coaching career as an assistant at Duke, his alma mater. In 1999 he was named head coach at Missouri, where he compiled a career record of 127-91.
Snyder reached the NCAA tournament in each of his first four seasons at Missouri, including a trip to the round of eight in 2002.
