Belleville, Ill. – A St. Clair County judge revoked bond Wednesday for a former Metro East teacher accused of trying to kill a teenager last year.
Circuit Judge Milton Wharton also ordered Samson Shelton to undergo testing to determine his fitness to be tried in July.
Milton's move came at the behest of prosecutors.
They cited six felony battery charges they filed against Shelton last week.
Those charges relate to Shelton's alleged roughing up of emergency responders and a nurse's aide in the wake of his apparent suicide attempt May Eighth.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges he tried to kill Ashley Reeves in April of last year and left her for dead in a Belleville park where she was found 30 hours later.
