Security stepped up at Pattonville HS after shooting

By AP/KWMU

St. Louis, MO – Security has been stepped up at Pattonville High School in suburban St. Louis after a 16-year-old was shot in the parking lot there on Friday night.

A fight broke out at a dance contest and a teen was shot in the back near the spine.

Police say they are searching for the shooter, a 21-year-old. Pattonville officials say neither the shooter nor the victim did not attend the school.

However, a dozen students were asked to stay home until their role in the fight can be determined. The school is also adding extra police officers and will not issue hall passes for now.
