St. Louis, MO – The former president of the St. Louis chapter of Komen for the Cure, a national breast cancer charity, will spend three years and one month in federal prison for possessing child pornography.
Sandra Batte, 60, was sentenced this morning (Friday). She was president of Komen for the Cure St. Louis, but resigned just before pleading guilty to possessing child porn in February.
Investigators discovered that a man arrested in an Atlanta child porn case had sent Batte explicit photos of children under the age of 12. Authorities say they found the images on a computer inside Batte's home in Chesterfield.
Batte tearfully apologized during her sentencing and told the judge she would spend the rest of her life seeking forgiveness.
