St. Louis, MO – St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay is getting into the presidential endorsement business early in the campaign.
Hillary Clinton's campaign sent word this morning that she now has Slay's support.
"Hillary Clinton has demonstrated that she understands why cities matter and has shown a strong grasp of the challenges and opportunities before us," Slay said, in a statement. "If Senator Clinton becomes President Clinton, I know St. Louis will have a strong advocate in the White House."
Four years ago, Slay, like most Missouri politicians, backed Dick Gephardt's run for President. When he dropped out, Slay immediately endorsed Sen. John Kerry.
