Missouri lawmakers hold moment of silence for Virginia shooting victims

By Matt Sepic, KWMU

St. Louis – Missouri House and Senate members paused Monday afternoon to remember the victims of the massacre at Virginia Tech.

Senate President Pro-Tem Michael Gibbons interrupted regular business to tell senators about the tragedy, and fellow Republican Delbert Scott of Lowry City delivered a prayer.

"And we think of this tragedy that we've just heard of, and we pray that You will minister to those that are hurting, the families of those that are deceased, Lord, we pray that You will be there in this time of tragedy."

In the State House, a moment of silence was held at the beginning of Monday's session.
