St. Louis – One of Missouri's fastest-growing school districts faces new challenges after a bond issue failed there last week.
Putting the question back on some future ballot is almost certain.
But for now, the district has to find room for a rapidly-growing student population.
Spokeswoman Norma Sudbrock says the district also has some mending to do given recent legal issues, including a sex scandal that led to a superintendent's firing last year.
"There's no doubt that there's a certain amount of confidence that we might have to gain back from our constituents," Sudbrock said. "And we'd like for them to know that our students are being educated."
Sudbrock says more temporary classrooms and changes to the class schedule are also likely to meet space needs.
The Wentzville School Board met Tuesday night for the first time since voters rejected the $25 million bond issue last week.
