Washington, DC – A Missouri man is among ten airmen missing since World War II whose remains have been identified and are being returned to family.
The Pentagon said Tuesday the men were on a B-24 bomber that crashed in bad weather in New Guinea in 1944.
They include Staff Sergeant Norman Nell of the far northwest Missouri town of Tarkio.
The plane's wreckage was found in 2001, and a Defense Department team recovered the remains and used dental records and DNA to identify them.
