St. Louis, MO – Closing arguments are expected today (Monday) in the Madison County trial featuring the once-popular painkiller Vioxx.
A man whose wife died of a heart attack four years ago is suing drugmaker Merck and blaming her death on the drug, which she started taking about 20 months before her death.
Patricia Schwaller's family says Merck didn't do a good enough job of warning of the side effects.
But Merck has argued that Schwaller's obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure might have led to her death -- not Vioxx.
