Jefferson City, MO. – Missouri Senate President Pro-Tem Michael Gibbons will be without his Chief of Staff for a time.
Neal English was arrested early Thursday morning for driving while intoxicated.
Gibbons says English is taking time off to undergo treatment for alcoholism.
"He told me what was going on, and that he felt like he had an issue that he needed to deal with, and he's going to be taking a leave of absence to get the professional help that he needs to beat this problem," Gibbons said.
Gibbons says he doesn't know how long English will be on leave, and a temporary replacement hasn't been named yet.
