St. Louis, MO – St. Louis aldermen are set to consider legislation today (Friday) that would let the city lease a small portion of Forest Park to Barnes-Jewish Hospital

That comes almost a year after news first broke of the deal. Although the 12 acres in question are separated from the rest of the park by Kingshighway, there was public outcry to save the park.

The proposal has since been trimmed to only let BJC use nine acres. And the hospital will also have to pay the city $200,000 more each year for the parcel, for a total of $2 million.

KWMU's Maria Hickey takes a look at who benefits from the deal.
