Potosi, MO – Authorities in Washington County says Michael Devlin allegedly used a handgun in the kidnapping of Shawn Hornbeck.

Shawn disappeared in 2002 and was found last Friday in a Kirkwood apartment along with Ben Ownby, who went missing early last week.

Washington County prosecutors have charged Devlin with kidnapping and armed criminal action.

Washington County Prosecutor John Rupp declined to discuss many details of the case.

But he quashed any speculation that Shawn Hornbeck voluntarily stayed with the alleged kidnapper.

"If these charges do not clear that up I don't know what else we can do to clear that up," Rupp said. "Shawn was abducted against his will. Period. End of story."

A judge has set bond at $3 million.

Devlin is being held in Franklin County on a kidnapping charge in the Ownby case.
