Bowling Green, MO – Two Amish boys who went missing two nights ago in Pike County, Mo. were found Thursday.
One of the boys had been reading Mark Twain, and police think that might have inspired them to seek an adventure. The boys had walked about 15 miles towards the Mississippi River.
Both boys are 12 years old. Pike County Sheriff Jim Wells says the boys were found by a woman who had heard they were missing and saw them passing a field.
Dozens of searchers, dogs and a Highway Patrol helicopter were searching for the boys; Wells says the boys were in school and were sent to take garbage to a creek, but didn't return to class.
