St. Louis, MO – Another big construction contract in the St. Louis area has been awarded.
Cement company Holcim said Monday a team that includes St. Louis-based Alberici will build its new cement plant in Ste. Genevieve County. The $900 million project will create largest cement plant in the nation.
Alberici will team with an Idaho-based company called Washington Group to build the plant.
Monday's announcement comes just days after MO-DOT awarded a huge contract to a team of builders who will re-build 12 miles of Highway 40.
Holcim says its project will employ 1,200 construction workers and 200 full-time employees when the plant goes online in third quarter 2009.
