Jefferson City, MO. – A report from state utility regulators praises AmerenUE for a "well executed" plan of restoring power after storms hit the St. Louis area during the
summer.
More than 645,000 customers lost electricity during the pair of mid-July storms.
Staff of the Missouri Public Service Commission compared Ameren's restoration efforts to those that followed 44 other major storms from 1989 to 2003.
They concluded that Ameren restored power to more than the average number of customers each day.
Still, it took nine days to restore power to everyone.
The report makes 20 recommendations for improvement, including still more emphasis on trimming trees near power lines.
