Laclede's natural gas rates to drop

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, Mo. – Laclede Gas customers will see natural gas rates drop by about 12 percent beginning Thursday.

The Missouri Public Service Commission says the price drop reflects estimated changes in the wholesale cost of natural gas.

A residential customer currently pays roughly $1.03 per 100 cubic feet of gas. Under Laclede Gas' filing with the PSC, the rate will drop to 90 cents.

Approximately 65 percent to 75 percent of a customer's natural gas bill reflects the cost of natural gas from wholesale suppliers.

Laclede Gas Company serves approximately 631,000 natural gas customers in the City of St. Louis as well as the Missouri counties of St. Louis, St. Charles, Butler, Iron, Franklin, Jefferson, Madison, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve.
