Jefferson City, MO – Missouri House Speaker Rod Jetton says he's thrilled his party only lost five House seats, given the national trend of Democratic gains.
Democrats, meanwhile, touted their first net gain of seats in 20 years and their largest pickup since 1978.
Election results show Democrats adding five seats, bringing the House margin to 92 Republicans and 71 Democrats.
Jetton said he was glad to still have a solid majority, especially as several other state Houses around the country turned over to Democratic control.
