Granite City, Ill. – Southwestern Illinois College's campus in Granite City is getting more state funding and a new name.
The school will get nearly $3.4 million from the state for more classrooms and improvements.
The campus also will be named for Sam Wolf, a former state lawmaker who has been a trustee at the college for more than a decade.
Wolf is credited with helping SWIC, at a time when it was known as Belleville Area College, open the campus in Granite City and getting state funds to build a new industrial training center there. He's been a trustee since 1995.
